Senior Portrait Takes Center Court

What's a senior portrait without a little tennis? This is a stricking shot, and was one of the very last ones we took, I'm glad I asked her (and her dad) to give me one more round.

Senior Portrait Time

It was great to see some old friends and do a nice set of photography for their daughter.

The Way We Were Meant to Be

These two can have a hard time getting along at home with a house-full of toys, but in the woods with nothing but some discarded twine and a lost roller wheel from a chain guide, they are in harmony.

The Boys of Summer

Summer is fading, but there is still time to have a little fun, I wish I was a boy again...

Karen and Molly's Speed Day

6:50 pace for 5xmile in the park, pretty speedy! I like what this lens (35mm Nikkor f2) does with the sun.

Point of View

I spent about an hour shooting at this location before I figured out this point of view. I love this image, but I didn't take very many from this point because it was during a race and my feeling is that racers generally want pics that are more straight forward and less artsy. Sometimes I can't resist though.

More Super D

Railing the 180

This was a great 180 degree burmed corner that riders were coming into off of a fast downhill. This guy was one of the fastest through it!

Capitol Forest Sooper D!

Mountain biking is becoming the summer version of skiing, now with lift access to a lot trails at resorts and the ever growing types of racing and competition. Super D is half-way between Downhill racing and Cross Country racing. When kids race with the grown ups it's always a really cool thing to take pictures of.

This was a beautiful dress, and it wasn't difficult getting a really nice photo of it.

Friends 'til the End

Karen and Molly at the Auburn Good Old Days 5k. They ran shoulder to shoulder the whole way, but didn't try to sprint at the end for the overall win.

How the heck does he do that?

Roses and the New Normal

Beauty is attractive, but ad a serrated edge and it, for some reason, becomes irresistible. There is a funny thing about ambiguity that ads to interest as well. Something interpreted, or imagined can be more moving than reality too, but a touch of focus grounds you. Either that or it's just my nifty new lens, the Nikkor 35mm F2, which is the "new normal" for my Nikon digital format!
