Tae Kwon Do Belt Test Part 2

These are from the test itself. We are new to the martial arts, so it's fun to learn as we go.

Tae Kwon Do Belt Test Part 1

M and B, at their belt test this weekend. M passed from yellow to orange, and B from white to yellow! I have to say this was a pretty big "proud Dad" moment. Since I took pictures of all the class members I got a front row seat to the testing ceremony, a bit better seat than the rest of the parents...hee hee hee.

Olympus f=50mm 1:1.8

Rarely do you see such simple perfection in our modern world as years past. Sales and marketing teams rule the roost with bells and a never ending variation of whistles. The normal lens. Hmmm...I have the modern version a Nikkor 35mm also that works with my D80. I would get on my chair and preach ( I do love the quality, size and simplicity), but I just put a brand new 17-55mm f2.8 Nikkor on my cam and...well...did I mention I love to blog too. Big sigh to my old Zuiko 50mm, the body it was attached to was too demolished to even keep around as momento. Seriously F'ed up in bad sticky and gooey ways, dents...holes.

My Stuff

12:34 a.m. and I should be finishing my homework for my CTE certification class, but I've instead worked up this little image of stuff that has found itself on my desk, treasures from a life half complete, some symbols of highlights and some daily companions. My life has become photography in so many ways, from teaching to hobby and business. This composition really hits nicely who I am. Are some significant things and people missing, of course, but let me detail the items: starting top left and working in a clockwise spiral, Olympus 50mm F1.8 off my Dad's old camera, that was mine for many years and the tool that started the photog spark. U-95 Turbine hydroplane, every Pasco kid loved the hydros, me especially. Photography business license, that's right, people pay me to take pictures, and it's official. Blake and Marcus on top of Mt. Peak, too much to say, these guys are what I live for. iMac, very cool. Nikon dSLR battery. Pics: Me on the Access winning a cross race in the snow, Brian who is one crazy mofo, Jake is one snazzy bike. Karen on her bike in a triathlon, again too much to say, my best friend, she completes me, I'm missing her as she's in Boston to run the marathon right now. Skookum at Black Diamond. T-smooth. Cool mag. Nikon D80 w/Nikkor 80-200 F2.8, the lens was a gift from my buddy Tom who taught me everything I know about photography. Diffuser cap for Speedlight 800. Nice lens case. Lens cap from Nikkor 17-55mm F2.8 which took this picture and takes 90% of my images these days. Blackberry phone. Trophy from my 4th place NCAA team in cross country at University of Washington, this was the beginning of the 6 best months of my running career. Karen and our dog Cookee, wow, too much to even touch the surface, this was at our first house in Enumclaw. Good buddy John at his wedding. Old manual Nikkor from my Mom's brother Don. Thursday Night Riders, my crew. Business card. Marcus in Dad's car. Dreamweaver app., I love my website. More pics. Rolleiflex. B+W polarizing Filter. Nikkor 35mm F2, super nice. Memory card. Leatherman tool. King headset top cap.
There is work to be done...
