Master Shon's Tae Kwon Do Tournament

Marcus at Master Shon's Tae Kwon Do Tournament in Federal Way. Marcus was 2nd in his group for board breaking and 2nd in his group for sparring. Very good! He had to take two tries on the last board, but his form and quickness was good. In sparring his first opponent was really timid, probably his first time sparring, and Marcus had a hard time connecting because the kid kept backing up. Marcus eventually got 5-0 on him. It was an awkward match. The final round was with the same kid that Marcus lost to in his first sparring competition 6 months ago. That time Marcus got knocked out by score about 45 seconds into the first round. This time Marcus came out very aggressive, survived the first round at 1-5. (a gap of 7 points stops the match). Marcus got hurt during this round a hard shot to the arm and another to the side of the face (supposed to be no head shots, but it happens). Marcus came out and battled it out for a final score of 6-9. A loss, but he actually won the second round 5-4. I was really proud of the way he came back from being hurt and fought hard the whole time, especially when this kid put him out so fast in their previous match up. Marcus was a tough-guy today!
